BETWEEN HISTORY, CULTURE AND INNOVATION
Cunziria 4.0 – Oltre il Borgo is the major cultural and social regeneration project for the historic village of Cunziria, funded by the PNRR – Mission 1 “Attractiveness of Villages”.
The aim is to bring a symbolic Verghian tradition location back to life, restoring its buildings, celebrating its memory, and transforming it into an innovative hub where history, culture, technology, and sustainability coexist. The village thus becomes a reborn space, open to the community and visitors, capable of telling its own roots while looking to the future.

The craftsmanship that speaks to the future
The project goes beyond mere physical redevelopment: it builds a new dimension of Cunziria, a “Meta-Borough” where tradition and innovation coexist. This digital ecosystem narrates the village through multimedia content, immersive paths and interactive tools, making its history accessible even from a distance and projecting the site into a national and international dimension. Communication becomes a central pillar of the project: not just information, but a true process of collective participation. Events, workshops, storytelling, social strategies and involvement activities turn citizens, schools, tour operators and universities into active protagonists of the rebirth. The Meta-Borgo thus builds a new shared identity, where Verga's literary heritage meets the technologies of digital culture, offering Cunziria a contemporary, inclusive and sustainable role. In this physical and virtual space, the village is no longer just a place to visit, but an experience to live, tell and share: an open laboratory of creativity, a bridge between past and future and an innovative model of cultural regeneration.
